After unveiling earlier this week the kitchen that will host its major competition, « Final Table »is now getting down to business.". JTBC has just released the first teaser for the drama starring Ahn Hyo-seop, Hong Hwa-yeon and Chang Ryul, and those few seconds of footage are enough to turn the kitchens into a veritable battlefield.
«Final Table» will follow «The Table: K-Chef 2026,» a competition bringing together Korean chefs from around the world with one goal: to determine who deserves the title of best Korean chef. The drama will also feature a unique format, as the competition will be staged like a real cooking show—a hybrid of a drama and a survival show.
And its first teaser clearly highlights this competitive aspect.

The video opens with this idea, before announcing the start of a competition designed to select the best chefs. Very quickly, the footage shows several chefs at their stations, focused on their preparations and determined to outdo their opponents.
In fact, the language used leaves little room for friendly competition: «The place where I stand is a battlefield.»
Knife cuts, meticulous preparations, dishes presented to the judges, and intense stares follow one after another as various characters make brief appearances. The teaser thus offers a first concrete glimpse of what «The Table: K-Chef 2026» will be like, following the poster released earlier this week that showed the spacious studio set up like a professional kitchen.
At the center of this battle will be Kang Han, played by Ahn Hyo-seop. A Korean chef who has made his career abroad, he will join the competition representing the Familia restaurant following an unexpected turn of events. The competition he faces promises to be particularly fierce.
Ahn Hyo-seop clearly has no intention of losing
«What matters is knowing who’s going to win.» The first teaser quickly establishes victory as the central stake of the competition. And Kang Han seems to arrive with considerable confidence as a final statement rings out: «If not me, then who?»
JTBC also includes this line in the text accompanying the video, joking that if it isn't «Chef Kang,» it's hard to imagine who else could win the competition.
However, he will face a formidable opponent in Cha Woo-jin, played by Chang Ryul. The head chef at Exception and a perfectionist obsessed with winning, Cha Woo-jin enters the competition for a very personal reason: to track down the mysterious chef who once relegated him to second place.
Hong Hwa-yeon will play Choi Song-yi, the manager of Familia. After her father’s death puts the family restaurant in jeopardy, she turns to «The Table: K-Chef 2026» as a last-ditch effort to save the business.
This first teaser, then, offers a glimpse into the other side of «Final Table.» Beyond the personal stories of Kang Han, Song-yi, and Woo-jin, the drama truly aims to portray the competition as a high-stakes contest, where every dish becomes a battleground.
Following the kitchen poster unveiled earlier this week, this first video begins to bring the show’s promise to life: to make «Final Table» both a drama and a true culinary competition show.
Consisting of 12 episodes, «Final Table» will premiere on October 24 on JTBC and will also be available on Prime Video.
