With one month to go before its launch, « Good Partner 2 »Finally brings her entire team together around the table. SBS has released footage from the first script reading, offering a chance to see Cha Eun-kyung's entire law firm… and the man who will challenge her for the title of best divorce lawyer: Park Hae-jin.
Jang Nara Returns as a Boss
Winner of the Grand Prize at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards for its first season, Jang Nara takes on the role of Cha Eun-kyung, a star attorney with twenty years of experience. She has now left the Daejung law firm to found her own practice, Ribom («Spring Again» in English), whose name evokes her desire to bring spring back to her clients after the storm of divorce.
During the reading, the actress reaffirmed what had made Season 1 such a success: a blend of icy charisma and emotion, for a heroine who always thinks about her clients’ lives beyond their cases.
Kim Hye-yoon, a powerhouse partner
At his side, Kim Hye-yoon plays Kang Hye-sung, a fifth-year law student who has made a name for herself thanks to her quick wit and tenacity. In other words, she’s a very different character from the young rookie played by Nam Ji-hyun in the first season.
The big question is how this passionate lawyer will grow through her interactions with a «legend» in the field. The production is also placing a strong emphasis on the female chemistry between the two heroines, and the lively exchanges between Jang Nara and Kim Hye-yoon have, it seems, already sparked some excitement on set.
Pyo Ji-hoon, the actress who plays the boss
Good news for Season 1 fans: Pyo Ji-hoon reprises the role of Jeon Eun-ho, who is now a lawyer at the firm. His motto hasn't changed: quick divorces and leaving on time in the evening.
This season, he’ll take on an unexpected role: that of a «human translator» tasked with softening his boss’s somewhat blunt remarks to clients. That’s sure to make for some entertaining scenes.
Park Hae-jin, the rival who wants first place
The real newcomer to the cast is Park Hae-jin. The actor plays Park Tae-soo, the head of the Taesu law firm. A former college classmate of Cha Eun-kyung, he made a name for himself through an online channel with 200,000 subscribers.
Her ambition is clear: to become the undisputed leader in divorce cases, even if it means going head-to-head with her former classmate. A worthy rival who could give this second season a sense of rivalry that the first one lacked.
The screenplay was once again written by Choi Yu-na, a lawyer specializing in divorce cases, and the film was directed by Seo Min-jung.
«Good Partner 2» will air starting Friday, November 20, 2026, at 9:50 p.m. (Korean time)—which is 1:50 p.m. in France—on SBS, on Fridays and Saturdays. The international streaming platform is still to be confirmed.
