Adaptation of a webtoon on the story of Sung Jin-woo. A hunter of rank E (the lowest on the ladder), he is mocked, isolated and considered useless in a world where humanity survives thanks to hunters who fend off monsters emerging from mysterious portals. But everything changes when Jin-woo survives a near-suicidal mission in a double dungeon. This feat transforms him: he gains the ability to improve on his own, to "level up" without limit, until he becomes the most fearsome hunter and the last hope of a world in peril.

On July 9, several Korean media outlets reported that Rain and Lee Sung-min would star in the upcoming drama adaptation of the famous web novel, which was later turned into a webtoon and then an animated series. However, following these reports, Rain’s agency clarified that nothing had been confirmed yet: «We are still reviewing the casting offer for Solo Leveling, and nothing has been decided yet.»

Update July 20, 2026: The cast of the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of *Solo Leveling* continues to grow. Lee Hong-nae has joined the Netflix series, where he will star alongside Byeon Woo-seok, Han So-hee, and Lee Sung-min.

In this adaptation, Lee Hong-nae will perform Kang Tae-shik, a Class B hunter belonging to the Surveillance Division of the Korean Hunters' Association.

A prominent character in the webtoon, Kang Tae-shik is one of the most memorable antagonists from the early story arcs. His arrival in the series should therefore be a significant moment for readers of the original work, who are eager to see how this character will be adapted for live-action.

Update September 3, 2026: The Korean press has reported that Sung Joon and Kim Si-ah will join Byeon Woo-seok in the ambitious Netflix series. Sung Joon is reportedly being considered for the role of Woo Jin-chul, an important character in the «Solo Leveling» universe and one of Sung Jin-woo’s allies throughout his journey.

On his side, Kim Si-ah may play Han Song-yi, a friend of Sung Jin-ah, the hero's younger sister.

When contacted in response to this news, their respective agencies, moahn Entertainment and VARO Entertainment, gave exactly the same response: «Nothing has been confirmed.»
