What happens when a woman with particularly conservative views on love finds herself face to face with a man who is convinced that love is nothing more than a hormonal illusion? It is this contrast that « Make Me Tingle »will build the relationship between" Nam Ji-hyun and Kim Jae-young. The new drama has just shared photos from its script reading and, most importantly, confirmed its air date.

Billed as a chaotic romantic comedy about coming of age, the series will follow Gong Yeon-su, played by Nam Ji-hyun. The young woman believes deeply in love, even though she has never really managed to understand what it means to her.

Raised in a traditional family where politeness, discipline, and good manners were of the utmost importance, she set particularly strict rules for herself regarding romantic relationships. Yet this well-established framework would be shattered when an unexpected encounter led her into a world for which she was completely unprepared: that of a sex toy company.

An encounter that shakes up everything they thought they knew

At the helm of this startup is Dokgo Dal, played by Kim Jae-young. And his view of relationships could hardly be more different from Gong Yeon-su’s.

Cold, cynical, and reluctant to reveal his emotions, Dokgo Dal believes there are no universal rules when it comes to relationships. For him, sex is a simple and effective way to create a connection between two people, while love is ultimately than a «hormonal illusion».

Behind this apparent confidence, however, lies a lonely man, scarred by the lack of affection he experienced. Yeon-su’s arrival will gradually shake the convictions behind which he had shielded himself.

In fact, their relationship doesn't start out as a love story. The two characters find themselves working together as part of a professional relationship between an advertiser and an agency. But their diametrically opposed views on emotions will quickly lead to conflicts.

Both of them are regularly taken aback by the other’s words and behavior, paving the way for a dynamic marked by arguments, misunderstandings, and, gradually, an attraction they certainly hadn’t anticipated.

Nam Ji-hyun and Kim Jae-young are already setting the tone

The video of the script reading offers a first glimpse of this contrast. Nam Ji-hyun adopts a confident tone to convey Gong Yeon-su’s particularly rigid convictions, while Kim Jae-young relies more on detachment to convey Dokgo Dal’s much more free-spirited approach.

When their characters begin to clash over their views on love and relationships, their exchanges quickly turn into bickering. This conflict is expected to be one of the drama’s main sources of comedy and romance.

The photos from the reading also show the actors together before the story begins—a story that is expected to gradually push its two heroes out of their comfort zones: Gong Yeon-su will discover a world completely at odds with her upbringing, while Dokgo Dal may begin to question his rejection of love.

And we won't have to wait much longer. The production team has now confirmed that «Make Me Tingle» will premiere on October 15 on TVING (no OTT service announced yet).
