Park Sung-woong (Park Sung-woong), born on January 9, 1973, is a South Korean actor who has been active in film and television since the late 1990s. He made his film debut in No. 3 in 1997, before going on to play numerous supporting roles.
After several appearances in TV series such as The Legend (2007), East of Eden (2008), Cain and Abel (2009) and King of Baking, Kim Tak-gu (2010), he gradually established himself as a character actor. In film, his career took on a new dimension with New World (2013), in which his portrayal of the gangster Lee Joong-gu earned him several nominations at major South Korean film awards ceremonies. He also made a strong impression as a serial killer in The Deal (2015).
He continues by saying Remember: War of the Son (2015), Man to Man (2017), and then enjoyed renewed success with Life on Mars (2018), in which he plays Detective Kang Dong-cheol. He then appears in When the Devil Calls Your Name (2019), Rugal (2020) and Snowdrop (2021).
In 2022, he played Kim Seon-joo in Unlock the Boss. The following year, he played two particularly memorable roles: Kwon Seok-joo in The Killing Vote and especially the formidable moneylender Kim Myeong-gil in Bloodhounds (The Hunt Is in Their Blood). He continues with Dong Jae: The Good Guy or the Bastard? (2024) and appears in Nine Puzzle in 2025.
In 2026, Park Sung-woong is set to appear in, among other things, If It’s Deep, Yeonriri and in historical dramas King Munmu the Great, in which he plays Kim Yu-sin. He is also part of the cast of the film Okay! Madam 2.
