For the first time, mistrust gives way to something else. In Episode 5 of « 100 Days of Deception »100 Days as a Spy,« airing this Saturday, features Lee Ga-kyeong and Sato Hideo sharing an unexpected moment of camaraderie in a photo studio. But this ray of hope may be short-lived: the spy will have to face one of the most grueling missions since she went undercover.
Warning: Spoilers for previous episodes.

From Suspicion to Complicity
Ever since they first met at the Gyeongseong train station—the former name of Seoul during the occupation—Ga-kyeong (Kim You-jung) and Hideo (Park Jin-young) have never stopped circling each other warily. She is a pickpocket who became a spy for the independence movement under a false identity. He is an interpreter and the adopted son of the second-highest-ranking official in the colonial administration.
Their reunion at the Japanese General Government—she as a trainee interpreter, he as a seasoned interpreter—, had only served to fuel the suspicions.
A photo studio, a black curtain
The new photos mark a real turning point. In a photo studio in the Jongno district, Ga-kyeong poses for the camera with a smile on her face. And Hideo can’t take his eyes off her.

Another scene in particular catches the eye: the two characters find themselves face to face, hidden beneath the black curtain covering the back of the camera. This unprecedented physical closeness between them hints at the beginnings of a true romance.
The question remains: what led them there? Was it just a stolen moment, or another chapter in the game of cat-and-mouse between the spy and the man she’s supposed to be watching?
The Interrogation of a Resistance Fighter
Because Episode 5 will be anything but easy for Ga-kyeong. Fukuda, the chief of the General Government’s police bureau—played by Kim Joong-hee—orders her to serve as an interpreter during the interrogation of an arrested resistance fighter.
A terrible ordeal for the woman who works in secret for the same cause as the prisoner. How can she keep her composure without revealing her true identity? Hideo, who witnessed the scene, grows increasingly worried about her. Yet another sign that his feelings have indeed changed.

Episode 5 of «100 Days of Deception» will air this Saturday, October 24, at 9:10 p.m. (Korean time)—2:10 p.m. in France—on tvN and will be available on Netflix later that day.
