«Take your revenge. Take a very attractive, high-ranking man as your lover.» Heinrey’s proposal to Navier sets the tone for the new teaser for «The Remarried Empress» (« The Empress Who Remarried » (in French). With one week to go before its release on Disney+, the series has unveiled a video focusing on its three couples, as well as illustrated posters whose style is as refined as the world of the novel.
Posters worthy of a picture book
To mark the series' premiere, Disney+ unveiled illustrated posters that echo the illustrations from the original online novel. Each character is associated with a color that captures their personality.
Shipowner (Shin Min-ah) stands out against a red and beige background, embodying regal grace, quiet strength, and magnetic charm. Sovieshu (Ju Ji-hoon) is bathed in deep blues and greens, much like a cold and calculating emperor. Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk) features emerald hues, synonymous with mystery and elegance. Rashta (Lee Se-young), finally, shines against a bright pink background dotted with flowers.
The Imperial Couple Is Falling Apart
The video «Romance Chemistry» explores the relationships that will shake up the court. It opens with Navier and Sovieshu, the seemingly perfect imperial couple. In it, the emperor promises that, no matter what happens, she will remain the only woman he will ever marry.
But the icy stares that follow suggest that this promise won't hold.
Sovieshu, Enchanted by Rashta
What follows confirms this. Sovieshu admits that, through Rashta, he discovered for the first time what it meant to be moved by someone. And he ends up making her a promise with far-reaching consequences: she is the one who will become empress.
This gives a hint of the shockwaves this decision will cause, both for Navier and for the future of the Eastern Empire.
Heinrey, the Prince Who Dares Anything
Faced with this betrayal, Navier finds an unexpected source of support. When she confides that the things she believed to be eternal can no longer last, Heinrey responds with disarming confidence: she need only take revenge by taking a very attractive, high-ranking man as her lover. A barely veiled way of offering himself to her.
The teaser also gives a nod to readers of the novel: a message signed «Queen»—Heinrey’s other identity—asking whether their meeting might be the work of fate.
Just one more week to go
With its mix of betrayal, ambition, and a new romance, «The Remarried Empress» promises to be one of the most anticipated romantic epics of the end of the year.
