Biography

Born on July 5, 1987, in Anyang, Ji Chang-wook is a South Korean actor, singer, and model considered one of the most iconic faces of modern K-dramas. Known for his charisma, impressive action scenes, and deep emotional range in romantic roles, he has built a career that blends action, melodrama, and romantic comedy.

Her K-dramas

After making his debut in film and television in the late 2000s, he achieved his first major success with Smile Again (2010), before proving his talent in the sageuk Warrior Baek Dong-soo (2011). His career took on an international dimension with Empress Ki (2013), in which he plays Emperor Ta Hwan, and especially with Healer (2014), which has become one of the cult classics of the Hallyu wave.

Ji Chang-wook went on to become a leading figure in the action-romance genre with The K2 (2016), in which his physical performances are impressive, and then shows a different side of himself in the romantic comedy Suspicious Partner (2017). After completing his military service (2017–2019), he explored new genres with Melting Me Softly, Backstreet Rookie, Lovestruck in the City and the musical series The Sound of Magic (2022).

In 2023, he marked a turning point with the noir thriller The Worst of Evil, where his role as an undercover cop showcases a newfound maturity as an actor. He follows that up with the nostalgic romance Welcome to Samdal-ri, followed by the darker works Queen Woo and Gangnam B-Side in 2024.

In 2025, he returned with The Manipulated, continuing his exploration of intense characters. In 2026, Ji Chang-wook remains at the top with Scandal, the movie Colony presented at Cannes, as well as new K-drama projects such as Merry Berry Love. A versatile actor, singer, and international star, he remains one of the indispensable pillars of K-dramas.
